The launch of the Ponentia railway terminal aims to save 1475 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Sustainability is a central theme when it comes to transportation and the logistics sector. At Ponentia Logistics S.A.we are constantly debating what the key is to improving its efficiency, reducing costs, and lowering CO2 emissions.

The terminal is designed as a state-of-the-art industrial and logistics zone that promotes the implementation of renewable and clean energies on the platform. In addition, we are committed to a sustainability strategy that reduces the environmental impact of industrial activity through self-supply and self-generation of energy from natural, continuous and inexhaustible sources.

Railway transport is presented as the best option for reducing CO2 emissions.

75% of the routes from our railway terminal are planned to be fully electrified. According to various studies, for every ton of goods transported per kilometre, a truck emits approximately 128 grams of CO2, while a train emits 15 grams.

Rail transport is the most sustainable solution for transporting goods. Based on our data and estimates, the Ponentia railway terminal, which will cover over 13 million km per year, will help save 1475 tons of CO2 emissions annually, thus committing ourselves to the environment.

The transition from trucks to trains is gaining momentum and will become more common in the coming years. Investments in the locomotive industry are expected to provide cheaper and more flexible transportation options for each part of the supply chain.
