The recent meeting of the Council of Transport Ministers of the European Union has addressed crucial aspects that will have a direct impact on the Intermodal Logistics Platform of Tamarite de Litera (Huesca), strengthening its position as a key logistics node.

Spain's Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, played an important role in this important meeting. During the Formal Council of Transport Ministers, agreement was reached on the general orientation of a new Regulation for the use of railway infrastructure capacity in the single European railway area. This regulation aims to optimise the use of rail infrastructure to better meet the needs of the sector, significantly benefiting rail capacity and connections throughout the European Union.

Among the topics discussed, the importance of cross-border connections to achieve an integrated and high quality Trans-European Transport Network was underlined. This approach will facilitate intermodal logistics and enhance Ponentia's logistics platform, reaffirming it as a crucial transportation node in the region. The need for open and fair competition in the European rail market was also defended, ensuring that all regions can access the benefits of an efficient and competitive rail network.

A key point of the meeting was the discussion on European funding. The third edition of the Connecting Europe Facility funds is expected to address major transport and infrastructure challenges.

The implementation of these measures represents an opportunity for the Tamarite de Litera platform, which will be able to consolidate its role in the European transport network and improve its competitiveness in the global market.
