PONENTIA AND CAPTRAIN PRESENT TO ADIF THE OPERATION PLAN FOR THE RAIL MOTORWAY SERVICE FOR TWO ROUTES BETWEEN LA LITÈRE-CALAIS AND LA LITÈRE-RUNGIS

PONENTIA has identified a potential demand for the transport of unaccompanied semi-trailers by rail (ferroutage) between Spain and various European destinations. Specifically, shipments are being planned from the new terminal at PONENTIA in Tamarite de Litera, and the terminals of Calais (in the north of France) and Rungis (in the Paris area in France). Contact is also being made with other European terminals in order to accommodate transits according to the needs detected.

These rail transport services would be MULTICLIENT Y MULTIPRODUCTThey meet the needs of different intermodal transport units (dry freight containers and tank containers of various sizes, swap bodies, semi-trailers, etc.).

Faced with this new scenario, PONENTIA y CAPTRAIN present this project of Railway Motorway in order to meet the needs of current and potential customers of the rail transport service, and therefore call on ADIF their inclusion in the gauge compatibility analyses in the General Interest Railway Network. Specifically; the sections Tamarite de Litera-Cerbere and Tamarite de Litera-Hendaye.

Currently CAPTRAIN SPAIN already operates several daily intermodal and rail motorway connections in Spain with connections to the rest of Europe.

PONENTIA will build an industrial and logistics platform associated with the operation of a railway terminal for intermodal units and semi-trailers in Tamarite de Litera. It is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2024.
