PONENTIA AND CAPTRAIN SUBMIT TO ADIF THE OPERATION PLAN FOR THE RAIL FREEWAY SERVICE FOR TWO ROUTES BETWEEN LA LITERA-CALAIS AND LA LITERA-RUNGIS

PONENTIA has identified a potential demand for unaccompanied trailer transport by rail (ferroutage) between Spain and various European destinations. Specifically, expeditions are being planned from the new PONENTIA eterminal in Tamarite de Litera, as well as the terminals in Calais (in the north of France) and Rungis (in the Paris area of France). Additionally, contact is being made with other European terminals to accommodate transit based on the identified needs.

These rail transport services would be MULTICLIENTE AND MULTIPRODUCTO, as they cater to the requirements of different intermodal transport units (dry cargo containers, various sizes of tank containers, swap bodies, semitrailers, etc.).

Given this new scenario, PONENTIA and CAPTRAIN present this Rail Highway project in order to meet the needs of current and potential customers of rail transport services. Therefore, they request ADIF ‘s inclusion in the analysis of gauge compatibility on theGeneral Interest Rail Network. Specifically, the Tamarite de Litera-Cerbere and Tamarite de Litera-Hendaya sections.

Currently, CAPTRAIN ESPAÑA already operates several daily intermodal and rail highway connections in Spain, connecting with the rest of Europe.

PONENTIA will construct an industrial and logistics platform associated with the operation of an intermodal and semitrailer rail terminal in Tamarite de Litera. Its launch is scheduled for September 2024.
